And here it is 😃 my final quilt top of 2014. After seeing another another quilt I started and never finished (1of 3 I can actually think of where the tops are not complete) I am a little tempted to bring it up to work on but at some point I have to stop right? I mean there is always tomorrow 😃. Happy New Year 🎉
Well here it is 😃 the last day of 2014. Still trying to finish some outstanding projects before the new year begins. Ok ok yeah I did decide on like Dec 27th to make a baby quilt I really didn't need to make just wanted to. I have one more quilt top to finish piecing and some backing to prep but that's it for 2014 then :) This first one is the baby quilt I just had to make. I love it! It features the gorgeous Miss Kate line from Thimble Blossoms by Bonnie and Camille. It's just so happy 😃  This 2nd one I started oh my goodness back in March 2014 I think. It was only missing the borders so I added them and now this quilt top is done 😃 it's for my son I love it! It features the Vintage Verona line  from Riley Blake. So today I finish one more quilt top and then piece the backing for my mom's quilt and then, well, that's a wrap. Everything else will have to wait for 2015. Can you believe I already have a to do list for January lol. Anyone else trying t
Oh and here is my plan for January 😃 wish me luck I hope to get it all done 😬 lots of finishing to do in January. Only 2 new quilts to start
Wow my last post was Dec 5th! Have been super busy since then :) finished my mom's other pillow I made her and also 8 placemats I sold and then started to hand bind my own placemats. Christmas was a blast 😃🎄 my kids had do much fun despite being sick. Now it's rest time before 2015 makes it's way here already have a quilting plan for January 😃 goal is to use my stash as much as is possible in 2015 and I hope to adhere to it, except when the new color theory is released, I plan to buy a lot then :) hope you all had a wonderful Christmas 🎅
Here it is. My very first pillow ever let alone also using a zipper closure. Learned a lot making this will for sure make more. This is for my mom for Christmas, it goes with the quilt I made her for Mother's Day. The pattern is the contact print pillow from Crazy Mom Quilts (she is pretty darn awesome just like this pillow :) find the pattern here  http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.ca/2014/02/contact-print-pillow-tutorial.html?m=1 My mom will love it so happy I got at least this finished in time lol
Boy oh boy December hit me hard with finishing projects!!! I have managed to finish piecing my placemats, and just today finished my mom's quilt top for her birthday on Dec 24th. I won't finish it because it is getting long armed. I still need to finish her pillow for Christmas (mom doesn't read my blog at least not yet lol so I'm safe to spill the beans) plus I have 2 baby quilts to quilt and bind oh and start the mini quilt for my mini swap with the awesome Schnitzel and Boo. My mom's gorgeous quilt is the moda love pattern which was designed for a layer cake which is obviously not what I used lol. My mom's favourite colour is red and she loves this Nancy Crow red so I said ok let's go dramatic  so here it is. I love it. Like all my quilts hard to say good bye to but she deserves it. And here is a completed placemat top I used Jan Shade Beach because well I love her Christmas line pretty much every year. See my little utensil pocket? I love these can&#
Well this has been a big year of quilting for me. I first learned to quilt in order to make something special for my son. I finished his first quilt when he was 4 months old. He is almost 3 now and was blessed with a little sister who is a year and a half. When I learned I was having a girl quilting went into high gear. I have made them both lots of quilts (no sign of slowing down) and sold some of my quilts. I think this year I have made 23 quilts. Whew but I love every moment. I currently have at least 6 left to bind a quilt top to finish, one to start, a pillow to finish and placemats to make (those are for the Christmas table) and 3 quilts to quilt.   My goal is to finish them by dec 31st so I can start pretty much fresh in 2015. Here are the 2 projects I worked on today This beautiful red and black quilt is a gift for my mother's birthday (Dec 24th) it started off with 4 fabrics but I quickly decided to just go with the 2 and make it dramatic. Her favourite colour is red s
Well I finally discovered how to post pictures to this blog and to call it easy would be an outright lie. But I managed to get some shots on quilts I finished this year (many more than what I'm showing tonight but I'll be happy if this loads). So there is a pic of my giant starburst, the green and grey quilt i made my mom for Mother's Day, the pineapple quilt I am making my hubby for our anniversary and the adorable quilt I made my friends son. More pics soon lol I made a ton of quirks this year. I am so grateful to have found quilting. I loved it so much!
