Wow! It's the last day of May! Where did the month go??? I know I was crazy busy with projects. I managed to bind 5 quilts that had been just chilling out on the sidelines, and I also quilted and bound a quilt that is for sale in my etsy shop. I made a pouch for my mom and my mother in law, finished a quilt top for my son, finished 8 of 9 swoon blocks, and finished the giant starburst that was commissioned. I also managed to finish destroying my iPhone. 😥 2 months ago my son accidentally dropped my phone in the just right way as to smash the screen. It still worked but little pieces would randomly fall off. Well on Tuesday I dropped it, that was it's death knell, the lcd screen....dunzo. I lasted till yesterday (friday) with no phone, yesterday at 1:30 when I myself cracked and called my provider and ordered a new phone which thankfully will be here Monday. Whew, normalcy will return. Between my family, and quilting my phone is just something I can't live without. I do hav...
Wow April was a whirlwind!!! Got so much done and May isn't slowing down at all!!!  So it started with me making my first ever flying geese which I love and am now addicted to! The ones below are for a mini swap I'm part of This toddler quilt got hand bound and is for sale in my etsy shop  Started laying out my mini pattern  And here is the top all complete. I finished piecing my very first Irish chain for my dayghter's second birthday   I finished hand binding this pixelated heart. This was a wedding gift for a friend  This quilt was for sale in my etsy shop but sold. This is it after being quilted  And here it is hand bound right before leaving for it's new home  This gorgeous giant starburst was commissioned. It is now quilted and ready to be hand bound  Pieced the label...
Well hello! Been a few weeks since I have posted but that's cause, well, life happened. Daddy Minion threw out his back. Poor guy was bad off. He cuts my quilts for me (yes I am crazy lucky) so he wasn't able to do much of what I needed doing. I did however get to start working on an Irish chain for my daughter using Willow for Riley Blake  This was at the beginning of laying it out. It quickly got too big for my table. So that has been the only thing I have been working on. But hubby is better now so more will be getting done 😃
Wow so my last post was at the end of January. Feels like forever ago! February is always a busy month here since it's the sunshine minion's birthday and my hubby's (they share their birthday) so that is always fun and at least 2 parties. Then about 2 weeks later is my birthday. So yeah we've been busy with parties. Still though of course I've been sewing. I have finished all 35 blocks for my Christmas 2015 quilt (hoping to finish the top this month) and got the quilt top finished on the giant starburst commissioned quilt. Also managed to quilt a baby quilt I am selling as well as quilt a wedding present now need to bind those 2. So yeah I've been busy while the snow and cold weather has kept us in. What projects are keeping you guys busy? Sorry for the blurry pic was trying to get all the blocks in the shot. Pretty much backed into my dog lol
So I'm never at a loss for projects (really, what quilter is?) but I had this gorgeous fabric from Frond Design Studio and the beautiful giant vintage star pattern from  In Color Order  and a free Friday night (yeah, I'm exciting, I know) so I decided to start piecing this This is my Giant Vintage Star all put together, I love love love it!!!! This is a project just for me before I start on my commissioned quilt, and finishing a wedding gift. Busy week ahead :) Oh and here is the finished mini quilt which was mailed out to my partner last week And I also finished this beautiful pixelated heart last week. It was a commissioned quilt. I am so happy with how it turned out!!
Ok here is the beauty I made for the  Schnitzel and boo  mini quilt swap round 3 I love it will be sad to see it go. I really hope my partner loves it. Here it is ready for hand binding. Ignore any blue lines you see. I can sew a straight line to save my life so I draw them and once I wash it they disappear and gorgeous straight lines appear. Really though what I love in this pic are my new Clover Wonder clips I am so in love with them. I think I may have to make them their very own pouch. So here is the quilt :)
So I'm taking part in the sewmystash2015 as you can see from my widget over there. That will take you to the awesome  blog of Project Leasa  she thought up this awesome challenge and myself and many fellow quilters have decided to take it on. While I admit to being more than slightly terrified at not being able to randomly purchase fabric I know this exercise in using my gorgeous stash is worthwhile. I have also been advised that I can purchase fabric in order to complete or back a quilt however at least 50% of said quilt should come from my stash. Now I only started quilting 2 years ago but let me assure you I have never been a shrinking violet when it came to shopping and buying beautiful fabrics, well now, that was never difficult. So yes I admit I have a fair stash and not a small amount of projects that need to be completed (like my  schnitzel and boo mini quilt  which needs to be hand bound ASAP). I still feel a little daunted but I am ready to get started thou...
