Wow so my last post was at the end of January. Feels like forever ago! February is always a busy month here since it's the sunshine minion's birthday and my hubby's (they share their birthday) so that is always fun and at least 2 parties. Then about 2 weeks later is my birthday. So yeah we've been busy with parties. Still though of course I've been sewing.
I have finished all 35 blocks for my Christmas 2015 quilt (hoping to finish the top this month) and got the quilt top finished on the giant starburst commissioned quilt. Also managed to quilt a baby quilt I am selling as well as quilt a wedding present now need to bind those 2. So yeah I've been busy while the snow and cold weather has kept us in. What projects are keeping you guys busy?

Sorry for the blurry pic was trying to get all the blocks in the shot. Pretty much backed into my dog lol

Well today, is a quiet day, ok well quiet moment. Mr Minion had one surgery today, one minion is at school the other with her Nonna. I thought I would pop on to share some of the quilts I made earlier this year. I am working on a bunch of projects right now, finishing a commissioned baby quilt and teachers gifts. I will post pics of those as they are done. lately I have been working on my WIP's. As quilters we have way too many of these as we often start a new project long before the last one is even close to completion. I have managed though to finish 2 very large projects that I started months ago. This is my supernova quilt (and my puggle) I had to stand way up my stairs to get this pic as this is a huge queen size quilt. I was first inspired to make this one I saw a pic on Instagram in these colours, it was a block made for a charity quilt and I fell in love. I do love a big block quilt though they do still take time. The pattern is from  Freshly Pieced  and I have mad...
Well here it is 😃 the last day of 2014. Still trying to finish some outstanding projects before the new year begins. Ok ok yeah I did decide on like Dec 27th to make a baby quilt I really didn't need to make just wanted to. I have one more quilt top to finish piecing and some backing to prep but that's it for 2014 then :) This first one is the baby quilt I just had to make. I love it! It features the gorgeous Miss Kate line from Thimble Blossoms by Bonnie and Camille. It's just so happy 😃  This 2nd one I started oh my goodness back in March 2014 I think. It was only missing the borders so I added them and now this quilt top is done 😃 it's for my son I love it! It features the Vintage Verona line  from Riley Blake. So today I finish one more quilt top and then piece the backing for my mom's quilt and then, well, that's a wrap. Everything else will have to wait for 2015. Can you believe I already have a to do list for January lol. Anyone else trying t...
So a few weeks ago my hubby (mr. Minion) mentioned to me that while I have made a lot of quilts he himself has never received one. What's this you say? Ok well let me rectify that situation my honey. So I know Mr Minion is a huge fan of Star Wars so Boom! Idea received. Hubby will be getting this quilt (once finished) in time for Christmas In this pic it is still missing the last 2 rows but they are on now and the quilt top is done!! He will be so surprised! The pattern is from  Iron Violet Designs  I am also so happy I found the perfect backing for it as fast as I did. I usually agonize over finding the perfect backing but I found this within a few days of finishing the top and got it ordered 😃
