So I'm taking part in the sewmystash2015 as you can see from my widget over there. That will take you to the awesome blog of Project Leasa she thought up this awesome challenge and myself and many fellow quilters have decided to take it on. While I admit to being more than slightly terrified at not being able to randomly purchase fabric I know this exercise in using my gorgeous stash is worthwhile. I have also been advised that I can purchase fabric in order to complete or back a quilt however at least 50% of said quilt should come from my stash. Now I only started quilting 2 years ago but let me assure you I have never been a shrinking violet when it came to shopping and buying beautiful fabrics, well now, that was never difficult. So yes I admit I have a fair stash and not a small amount of projects that need to be completed (like my schnitzel and boo mini quilt which needs to be hand bound ASAP). I still feel a little daunted but I am ready to get started though just baby steps before I bring out my 2 big projects. So the first quilt of 2015 that I will be making utilizing my stash is In Color Order's Giant Vintage Star. Can't wait to post pics

Well today, is a quiet day, ok well quiet moment. Mr Minion had one surgery today, one minion is at school the other with her Nonna. I thought I would pop on to share some of the quilts I made earlier this year. I am working on a bunch of projects right now, finishing a commissioned baby quilt and teachers gifts. I will post pics of those as they are done. lately I have been working on my WIP's. As quilters we have way too many of these as we often start a new project long before the last one is even close to completion. I have managed though to finish 2 very large projects that I started months ago. This is my supernova quilt (and my puggle) I had to stand way up my stairs to get this pic as this is a huge queen size quilt. I was first inspired to make this one I saw a pic on Instagram in these colours, it was a block made for a charity quilt and I fell in love. I do love a big block quilt though they do still take time. The pattern is from  Freshly Pieced  and I have mad...
Well here it is 😃 the last day of 2014. Still trying to finish some outstanding projects before the new year begins. Ok ok yeah I did decide on like Dec 27th to make a baby quilt I really didn't need to make just wanted to. I have one more quilt top to finish piecing and some backing to prep but that's it for 2014 then :) This first one is the baby quilt I just had to make. I love it! It features the gorgeous Miss Kate line from Thimble Blossoms by Bonnie and Camille. It's just so happy 😃  This 2nd one I started oh my goodness back in March 2014 I think. It was only missing the borders so I added them and now this quilt top is done 😃 it's for my son I love it! It features the Vintage Verona line  from Riley Blake. So today I finish one more quilt top and then piece the backing for my mom's quilt and then, well, that's a wrap. Everything else will have to wait for 2015. Can you believe I already have a to do list for January lol. Anyone else trying t...
So a few weeks ago my hubby (mr. Minion) mentioned to me that while I have made a lot of quilts he himself has never received one. What's this you say? Ok well let me rectify that situation my honey. So I know Mr Minion is a huge fan of Star Wars so Boom! Idea received. Hubby will be getting this quilt (once finished) in time for Christmas In this pic it is still missing the last 2 rows but they are on now and the quilt top is done!! He will be so surprised! The pattern is from  Iron Violet Designs  I am also so happy I found the perfect backing for it as fast as I did. I usually agonize over finding the perfect backing but I found this within a few days of finishing the top and got it ordered 😃
