Well this has been a big year of quilting for me. I first learned to quilt in order to make something special for my son. I finished his first quilt when he was 4 months old. He is almost 3 now and was blessed with a little sister who is a year and a half. When I learned I was having a girl quilting went into high gear. I have made them both lots of quilts (no sign of slowing down) and sold some of my quilts. I think this year I have made 23 quilts. Whew but I love every moment.
I currently have at least 6 left to bind a quilt top to finish, one to start, a pillow to finish and placemats to make (those are for the Christmas table) and 3 quilts to quilt.   My goal is to finish them by dec 31st so I can start pretty much fresh in 2015.
Here are the 2 projects I worked on today
This beautiful red and black quilt is a gift for my mother's birthday (Dec 24th) it started off with 4 fabrics but I quickly decided to just go with the 2 and make it dramatic. Her favourite colour is red so I know she will love it. I also love this gorgeous pattern from Moda you can get it free from their site. I would be finished it but I didn't get enough black lol so I am just waiting for it to arrive so this quilt top can be finished.
This sweet pixelated heart is being made as a baby quilt using my favourite ombré fabric from V&co just love the shades of pink. She makes beautiful fabrics. So this was some of the fun stuff I worked on today. Quilting brings me so much joy.

Well today, is a quiet day, ok well quiet moment. Mr Minion had one surgery today, one minion is at school the other with her Nonna. I thought I would pop on to share some of the quilts I made earlier this year. I am working on a bunch of projects right now, finishing a commissioned baby quilt and teachers gifts. I will post pics of those as they are done. lately I have been working on my WIP's. As quilters we have way too many of these as we often start a new project long before the last one is even close to completion. I have managed though to finish 2 very large projects that I started months ago. This is my supernova quilt (and my puggle) I had to stand way up my stairs to get this pic as this is a huge queen size quilt. I was first inspired to make this one I saw a pic on Instagram in these colours, it was a block made for a charity quilt and I fell in love. I do love a big block quilt though they do still take time. The pattern is from  Freshly Pieced  and I have mad...
Wow! It's the last day of May! Where did the month go??? I know I was crazy busy with projects. I managed to bind 5 quilts that had been just chilling out on the sidelines, and I also quilted and bound a quilt that is for sale in my etsy shop. I made a pouch for my mom and my mother in law, finished a quilt top for my son, finished 8 of 9 swoon blocks, and finished the giant starburst that was commissioned. I also managed to finish destroying my iPhone. 😥 2 months ago my son accidentally dropped my phone in the just right way as to smash the screen. It still worked but little pieces would randomly fall off. Well on Tuesday I dropped it, that was it's death knell, the lcd screen....dunzo. I lasted till yesterday (friday) with no phone, yesterday at 1:30 when I myself cracked and called my provider and ordered a new phone which thankfully will be here Monday. Whew, normalcy will return. Between my family, and quilting my phone is just something I can't live without. I do hav...
So I'm taking part in the sewmystash2015 as you can see from my widget over there. That will take you to the awesome  blog of Project Leasa  she thought up this awesome challenge and myself and many fellow quilters have decided to take it on. While I admit to being more than slightly terrified at not being able to randomly purchase fabric I know this exercise in using my gorgeous stash is worthwhile. I have also been advised that I can purchase fabric in order to complete or back a quilt however at least 50% of said quilt should come from my stash. Now I only started quilting 2 years ago but let me assure you I have never been a shrinking violet when it came to shopping and buying beautiful fabrics, well now, that was never difficult. So yes I admit I have a fair stash and not a small amount of projects that need to be completed (like my  schnitzel and boo mini quilt  which needs to be hand bound ASAP). I still feel a little daunted but I am ready to get started thou...
